Beautiful step of faith...

By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus' name and the faith that comes through him that has given this complete healing to him, as you can all see.
Acts 3:16

A crippled man sat outside the temple gate called 'Beautiful'. Clothed in tattered rags, he stretched out his hands to anyone who was passing by the gate into the temple. Some threw him a few coins upon seeing his pitiful sight while others held their noses at the stench emanating from him and hurried on.
As his hands scrambled to gather the coins that had fallen around him, his eyes continued to graze around alertly, awaiting the next round of alms. Just then, his watchful eyes caught two men approaching. Automatically, his outstretched arms were ready for the next collection.
To his surprise, a voice spoke firmly, "Look at us!" With eagerness and curiosity, he lifted his eyes to them expectantly, thinking that these two men were going to give him something valuable.

One of the men looked straight into his eyes and said, "Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk."
Tears filled the cripple's eyes swiftly as these precious words were finally spoken to him after drawn-out years of waiting. Jesus...he heard of that name before, because it had spread far and wide that this man Jesus had healed many people. Trembling with stupefaction, his heart leaped with anticipation to the promise given to him. His teary eyes gazed up at the man who had spoken, beseeching him silently to grant the very desire of his heart. The man responded by reaching out his hand. With firmness of heart, he believed in the words of the man and grabbed his hand, concluding in his mind and trusting that in the name of Jesus, he shall walk!

To his own amazement, he felt his body being lifted up as the hands of the man held him firmly and slowly but surely pulled him up to his feet. Only this time, he did not slump heavily back to the ground as before, as the man's hands were removed and no longer supporting him. His feet could finally feel the hardness of the ground and were strong enough to hold his weight. Gingerly, he attempted to put one leg forward, and as that leg settled firmly on the ground, he felt bold enough to take the next step and the next and the next...
He was walking. He was finally walking! Awe and wonder filled his heart and he burst out in exclamation and laughter, praising God with thanksgiving.
