Chocolate???

Fresh and succulent strawberries coated with a rich, sweet and velvety layer of chocolate.
Sometimes, I wonder just what it is about these treats that get people all excited and even euphoric about them.
I have friends who really love chocolate and they will go ga-ga as long as there are any chocolate. Just give them chocolate, see them pop it into their mouths and immediately this look of bliss and satisfaction comes over their faces. Sure, I heard that the consumption of chocolates triggers the release of endorphins* but can people really become happier by eating chocolates? Chocolate is seen as a 'feel-good' kind of food, to the extent that when people get sad or depressed, they would reach for a bar of chocolate to cheer them up. Alas, there are considerable side-effects to eating too much chocolate as one runs the risk of getting health problems.
To me, chocolate may be able to trigger feelings of elation in most of us but ultimately these feelings are ephemeral; its effects will soon wear off (that is why you always hear people asking for more). It is more important to be able to find a joy that will last; one that would not have undesirable side-effects and the source of that joy (to me) is faith in Jesus :)
